The state of Assam on Saturday recorded 5,980 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the active cases count to 54,058. The positivity rate is 5.57 per cent. The deaths in the state has escalated to 2,667 with 79 new deaths today reported.
The overall caseload of the state has touched 3,65,620. Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro registered 902, Cachar 502, Naogaon 422, Kamrup R 389, Dibrugah 311. Total of 1,07,398 tests were conducted in last 24 hours.
The District wise deaths are: Kamrup Metro(19), Kamrup R(9), Barpeta (6), Sonitpur (6), Nagaon (5), Cachar (4), Tinsukia (4), Nalbari (3), Darang (2), Dibrugah (2), Hojai (2), Sivasagar (2), Udalguri (2), Baksa (1), Biswanath (1), Cheraideo (1), Chirag (1), Dhemaji (1), Goalpara (1), Golaghat (1), Jorhat (1), Kokrajhar (1), Lakhimpur (1), Morigaon (1), South Salmara (1), West Karbialong (1). 4,659 cured patients were discharged. The recovery rate of 84.12 per cent.
