Surrendered ULFA (I) leader Jibon Moran was arrested on Friday by the Dibrugarh Police for an extortion case registered back in 2019. The case was registered against him for demanding 20 lakh rupees from a person in Dibrugarh and also threatening him with death.
Jibon Moran has been arrested under India Penal Code 387/ IPC R/w Section 66D IT act and 10B (ll)UA(p)act, 66(F) (l)(A) IT act of 1197. Dibrugarh Police has also taken the ULFA (I) leader to the sessions court regarding the case.
Thereafter he was taken to the hospital for further medical tests. Jibon Moran has been in police custody from last five days after he came back to Assam quitting ULFA.
