Senior leader of the ban outfit, the United Liberation Front of Asom- Independent (ULFA-I), Jibon Moran in currently in the custody of Indian Army.
Moran is in the Laju Army Camp in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh where he is being interrogated. The 65-year-old decided to return home after 35 years of active involvement in the organization due to health issues.
A few days back the sexagenarian cadre announced his decision to surrender. Subsequently after his arrival at Dibrugarh on 28th April, Moran was immediately taken by the armed forces for interrogation by the intelligence service.
Jibon Moran hails from Uban village of Kakopathar in Tinsukia. He joined ULFA in 1984. Also known as Jibon Axom, he was the former financial secretary of the ban outfit and had immense influence as one of the top management. He have expressed his desire to live the rest of his life with his family.
According to sources, Jibon Moran is in Army custody the in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh. After his arrival to Dibrugarh he will surrender before the state and would likely to live rest of his life with family.
